drumm chimp or hamilton industry or jon hamilton is best known for his drumming in ligament, part chimp, die much machine and thee shit & shine live experience. with part chimp not doing much, and in between sporadic dmm shows and mastering records for others, jh found himself applying his encyclopaedic knowledge of the kosmiche to a battery of synths. with origins that stretch back to, and build upon the mid-to-late twentieth century sci-fi of 2006’s retro nebulizer (unlabel), now stop listening forever is a four and a half hour trip into a future at odds with itself, juxtaposing an unsettling vision of a dystopian post-fallout world with the brightness and possibilities offered in an utopian modernity.
